Norwegian rules built in
Self-certified sick leave, doctor-certified leave, sick child, vacation, leave and public holidays are first-class concepts in the system — not translations. Addresses are verified against Kartverket.
Effiora exists because operations in Norwegian cleaning and facility-service companies are still run on paper, Excel and phone calls — while the systems that do exist are made for other industries or other countries. We built Effiora from the ground up: around shifts, clock-ins, sick leave and payroll basis the way they actually work in Norway.
The story
The idea for Effiora started with something completely ordinary: the sheet of paper in the stairwell listing what had been done. I noticed it hanging in almost every building I walked into, and then I started wondering. What happens the day something changes? How often does someone have to reprint it, drive over and put it back up? And who actually notices when the one hanging there is out of date?
I contacted a few cleaning and facility-service companies to check whether I had misunderstood the problem. I had not. Every one of them recognised it, every one of them solved it by hand, and none of the systems they were already paying for gave them a good way to do it.
That is where Effiora started. Today there is still something hanging in the stairwell, but it is a QR code. The page behind it updates itself after every visit, and the customer needs neither a login nor an app to see it.
I have been building Effiora for three years, on and off, and I am still at it. New features arrive regularly, not to fill out a list, but because each one should make Effiora the most logical decision a cleaning or facility-service company can make.
— Hekuran Ismajli, founder of Effiora
There are good systems for retail, restaurants, construction and general shift planning. Effiora is not one of them and is not trying to become one. Effiora is built for companies that do the same work at the same places, over and over, and that need to show the customer it was actually done. That is a narrower ambition than fitting everyone, and it is a deliberate one: it is the only way to get genuinely good at something.

The Norwegian cleaning and facility workforce is multilingual. That is why the mobile app comes in Norwegian, English, Albanian, Lithuanian, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian and Filipino.
The service runs at Hetzner in Germany and email goes via Mailjet in France. Your data does not leave the EU.
Every company's data is isolated with PostgreSQL Row-Level Security — in the database itself. Plus a strong password policy, lockout on failed attempts and rate limiting.
The web app (app.effiora.no) is the office: work plans, the control room, approval, payroll basis, absence administration and QR signs. The mobile app is the field: the whole workday for workers — and a growing management toolkit for operations managers on the move. Roles (operations manager, team lead, employee) control who sees what.
